Having twins is truly a blessing from God. Not all pregnancy is like the text book pregnancy that you are thinking of. It's different. Carrying twins is pretty tough. The constant backache and sleepless night really give you a hard time. Teaching in school and especially to young kids makes things harder for me. But well, the love of God would not give me what His grace cannot sustain me right. So, now I am 29 weeks and I think I am doing pretty well. Still in good shape, though look abit like a humpty dumpty nowadays. Sigh.. I wonder how I will look like after delivery. Anyway, we pray for another 7 weeks, so that our precious twins can be at least full term babies and not so small in size. Currently at 29 weeks, they are about 1.2 - 1.3 kg. Every two weeks, they increase approx. 200gm. The first twin's head is down already but the second twin is in breech position. All I ask from God is just safe delivery, healthy babies and HIS divine timing for delivery.
Anyway, couple of months ago, we told Zoe that she will be expecting two mei mei and their names will be Zilpha and Zaphanie. After thinking and praying and putting much thoughts into it, we decided that Zilpha isn't really a suitable name. Many people gave us a weird look when we mentioned that name. So.... we decided to change. Again, putting much thoughts into it and checking the meaning of the names, we finally decided on the name Daphanie Lai Nen Lee (from the name Daphne)(Greek origin - meaning 'victory') and Zaphanie Lai Nen Hui (from the name Stephanie) (Greek origin - meaning 'crown'). Now, the problem is with Zoe. We already introduced the names of her mei mei as Zilpha and Zaphanie right, .....to get her to change the names will be another tough job.
The other day, we told her that the new names would be Daphanie and Zaphanie.. This is the conversation between father, mother and daughter.
Daddy: Zoe, remember to share share things with mei mei next time k.
Zoe: Hmmmm.. Share share with Zilpha and Zaphanie.
Daddy: No Zoe, we change the name already. Zilpha will now be called Daphanie.
Zoe: Nolah.. Zilpha and Zaphanie mah..
Mummy: No Zoe, change already. No more Zilpha. Come Zoe.. you good girl right. Try to say Daphanie.. Daaaarreeeee furrrr neeeee.
Zoe: "poooo nen" lah (cannotlahhh) Zaphanie and Zilpha laaaa...
Daddy: Ok.. Nevermind Zoe.. Daddy and mummy will give you some time to get used to the names
Lesson for the day: Never tell your child the names of their siblings until it is confirmed.
